Aloe vera (lat. aloe barbadensis miller) resembles a cactus in appearance, but belongs to the lily family. It is one of the oldest known medicinal plants, native to the dry and semi-dry regions of Africa, Central and South America. The gel-like leaf interior, which stores water and nutrients for long periods of drought, was used by advanced civilizations thousands of years ago to maintain beauty and well-being.
Of the more than 300 species of aloe, "Aloe barbadensis miller" has the best properties for our skin and the human organism.
Our aloe vera gel is ideal
Valuable ingredients | The aloe vera plant contains various ingredients such as acemannan (a mucoplysaccharide), essential amino acids, enzymes, anthraquinones (aloin and emodin), vitamins (A, C, E, and B12); minerals (e.g. zinc, copper, selenium, calcium), fatty acids (e.g. lupeol and campesterol), hormones (auxins and gibberellins) and others (e.g. zinc, copper, selenium, calcium).(e.g. zinc, copper, selenium, calcium), fatty acids (e.g. lupeol and campesterol), hormones (auxins and gibberellins) and others (e.g. saponins, salicylic acid, essential oils). It should be noted that the effectiveness is not simply due to the individual ingredients, but rather to the exceptional combination of active ingredients. |
Moisturizing | Aloe vera gel contains a lot of water and is therefore an excellent natural moisturizer. It is easily absorbed by the skin without being greasy. Applied before your day cream, it provides deep moisture like a serum. Massaged into the ends of the hair after shampooing, it gives the hair suppleness and shine. |
"First aid plant" | Due to its extensive properties, aloe vera used to be called the "first aid plant". Aloe vera gel supports wound healing and can help with minor injuries, cuts, scratches or burns (including sunburn). |
Cooling and soothing | The cooling effect of the gel makes it ideal for soothing irritated or inflamed skin, such as sunburn, skin irritations or insect bites, after laser treatments, epilations, peelings and shaving. |
Anti-inflammatory | Aloe vera gel contains compounds such as salicylic acid, which have anti-inflammatory properties. It helps to reduce redness and swelling, for example in the case of acne. |
Anti-ageing | By promoting collagen production and its moisturizing effect, aloe vera gel helps to keep the skin firm and supple. |
Antibacterial and antifungal | The gel has a natural antibacterial and antifungal effect, which makes it useful in the treatment of minor skin infections or fungal diseases. |

Only the leaf gel is used in the manufacture of our aloe vera products. This is because the whole leaf or the leaf bark contains aloin, which is considered poisonous.
The healing power of aloe vera has been known since time immemorial. We don't know exactly how long, but great names - such as Cleopatra, who used it to treat her skin, Alexander the Great, who may have used it to treat wounds, or Columbus - already appreciated this valuable plant. In some cultures, it is even revered as a healer. In Mexico - the most important cultivation area - the leaves are attached above the entrance to the house because they are said to drive away diseases.
AMAZONAS Aloe Vera Gel is an indispensable companion for daily facial care. Dry skin is prone to inflammation, can become flaky and unpleasantly itchy. Aloe vera gel moisturizes the skin and has a soothing and preventative effect against discomfort.
Hair treatment:
Regular aloe gel packs prevent the scalp from drying out. A handful of gel in the hair revitalizes it and strengthens the hair structure.
Face:
Daily facial care gets a soothing moisturizing boost from aloe gel.
After sunbathing:
Aloe vera gel helps to soothe redness and cool the skin.
According to a study by Dr. Julia Stump from the Albert-Ludwigs-Universität Freiburg, 40 test subjects had previously irradiated areas of their bodies treated with either aloe gel or a commercially available hydrocortisone cream. Aloe vera gel clearly confirmed its beneficial effect here. As aloe vera gel promotes cell proliferation, it can also accelerate the healing process in the case of severe burns.
